CPI(M) protests in Hyderabad against Union Budget 2025

Hyderabad, Feb 3 (UNI) The CPI(M) Greater Hyderabad Central City Committee staged a protest at RTC Cross Road, here on Monday condemning the Union Budget for allegedly favouring corporate giants while neglecting farmers, workers, and the poor.

Addressing the gathering, CPI(M) Central Committee Member Nagaiah criticised the Centre for cutting funds for agriculture, employment schemes, and essential sectors while pushing for privatization, particularly in the insurance sector.

He accused BJP MPs from Telangana of failing to secure funds for the state and demanded their resignation if they couldn't deliver.

State Committee Member T Jyoti echoed these concerns, highlighting reduced allocations for SC/ST welfare, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. She called for statewide protests and renewed struggles to secure Telangana’s rightful share in the budget.

Other leaders, including State Committee Bandaru Ravikumar and DG Narasimha Rao, urged the Congress-led state government to take a firm stand against the budget's shortcomings. They demanded an all-party meeting to address Telangana's neglect and proposed a Telangana Bandh to pressurize the Centre.

The protest saw participation from CPI(M) state, central, and city leaders, along with a large number of women.
